An Organist for All Souls
All Souls Anglican Church, in Wheaton, IL, is currently seeking an organist
to support our services on a contract basis.
We are an Anglican Church in the ACNA, established in 2004. We cherish the Word of God and the beauty of worship. We value the rich traditions of the Church and the Anglican liturgy. We are bound by grace. We are a small multi-generational parish lovingly known to one another as ‘Souls.’ We bring our creativity and professional skills to the service of our parish. We serve quietly but energetically. We are located at 25W741 Jewell Road, in Wheaton, Illinois. We’d encourage you come and visit us to get a firsthand sight and sound experience of our services and to learn more about us.
About Our Music
Since our inception, music has been a primary ministry of All Souls Anglican Church. We are fortunate to have a volunteer choir who sing a repertoire of choral anthems ranging from the Renaissance works of Thomas Tallis, Orlando Gibbons, and William Byrd to the modern day works of Edwin Childs, John Rutter and Herbert Howells. Students of the Wheaton College Conservatory of Music often choose to make All Souls their church home during the academic year. Our lay musicians offer voice and instrumental music to lift the parishioner toward God, with their weekly efforts. We are a hymn singing church. We believe that music is the arrow that carries the Word of God into the hearts of souls. We would like our organist to hold this ideal as well.
At selected points in the calendar, All Souls Anglican Church holds special services, such as All Hallows Eve, Christmas Eve, Epiphany, Ash Wednesday, Maundy Thursday, Good Friday and more. We also occasionally hold Choral Evensong services. We would need organist support for many of these services, in addition to our regular Sunday morning services.
