Statement on Abuse

All Souls Anglican Church believes that all persons should experience the church as a safe environment, free from any form of abuse. As our Mission Statement says, we are a Christian community grounded in God’s love and we follow the way of Jesus as we care for each other. Sometimes such care requires holding each other accountable and providing for avenues of correction. We do this humbly with the awareness that all of us have fallen short of the glory of God, but also with an awareness that caring for the vulnerable is a fundamental calling of every Christian believer.

Although we cannot control every circumstance, All Souls strives to create a culture that does not allow abuse to thrive. You are invited to join our community in this holy ambition, as we embody God’s compassion and work to create a place of safety for every person in the church and a sanctuary of healing and justice for survivors.

Safety for Kids & Youth

We believe that safeguarding the spiritual, emotional, and physical well-being of children is an important calling as a parish. We follow Diocesan Policies regarding the Prevention of Sexual Misconduct and Child Abuse by Clergy, Employees, and Volunteers.

In light of these policies, All Souls currently vets clergy, employees, and volunteers through background checks and MinistrySafe training. We strive to ensure that church activities involving children and youth are consistent with the teachings and example of our Lord Jesus Christ and with the Christian tradition of nurturing children.
