Lent: Resources for the Souls

As we invite the Souls into a Holy Lent, check out the resources below. We hope they will help you walk through these forty days in the wilderness of Lent, preparing for Easter.

Daily Office Prayer Booklet

One discipline to take up during Lent is a commitment to regularly praying the daily offices. You can always use our Daily Prayer web page (which is updated each day to include daily readings), pick up a physical booklet from the church, or download a PDF of the booklet here. If you prefer to print your own copy at home, here is a PDF for that.

Click here for a list of the readings for each day.

Stations of the Cross

While we typically walk through the stations of the cross at noon on Good Friday, the practice isn’t limited to one day of the church year. We invite you to go through the stations of the cross on Fridays during Lent. You can find text and images here, watch/listen to a video to guide you through the stations, or (if you prefer physical instead of digital options) pick up a Stations of the Cross booklet from the church.

Lenten Wednesday Morning Prayer

7.30a on Zoom

We invite you to join us for Morning Prayer on Zoom each Wednesday. Register in advance for this meeting. You will receive a confirmation email containing information about joining the meeting.

Lenten Bible Study

Wednesdays 7.00p

Beginning March 3, we’re continuing our theme of hope and are going to take a closer look at Ezra and Nehemiah as a Bible Study. We will plan on meeting on Wednesday nights from 7:00-8:00p at All Souls (with a Zoom back-up!). Plan on bringing your Bible of choice an a mask and join us! This study is open to anyone who’s interested. Please email Deacon Joy if you are interested.

The Souls’ Favorite Lenten Resources

Lent can be a time for fasting (“giving up” something for Lent), and can also be a time for “taking on” a new discipline — or even a familiar discipline that you take on each Lent. We’re beginning to gather some of our favorite Lenten resources. Perhaps you’ll find — among these treasured favorites of the Souls — something to pursue in these coming weeks.

Would you like to contribute to the list? Fill out this simple form to share your favorite Lenten resources. We’ll add to the list and it will show up in the link above very soon.

Support Kenya Children’s Fund

Set out a small bowl in a prominent spot in your home.
Put your spare change in the bowl every day.
Or find another way to add to your bowl.
Present it on Palm Sunday.

Your coins will purchase “Easter Baskets” for students — often their only food during their April Easter Break. We hope you’ll join us to feel more connected to our brothers and sisters in Dandora.
