Bulletin Art: Open Call for Submissions

We are inviting parishioners of All Souls to submit their original artwork for our bulletin covers. Anyone is welcome to do so: any age (kids, too!), skill level, or art style— as long as it can be captured in a digital format, we can accept it for consideration, so don’t be shy!

What kind of artwork will be accepted?

Any original, human-made artwork (please, no AI-generated art). It must be digitized or photographed to be eligible for submission: drawings, paintings, photography, even sculpture or paper art… whatever can be captured!

What themes or subject matter should inspire the artwork?

These pieces will be considered for the 2026 Ordinary time season, which begins in early June and ends late November. Ideally, our bulletin covers reflect the Gospel passage for the week, but we will also consider artwork that captures the general theme of “beauty in the ordinary” or other passages from a particular week

Use the online Lectionary to find the Gospel passage and supporting verses for inspiration.

There is no need to include any text, but if you wish to somehow incorporate a relevant verse as part of the art, you may do so.

Creative tips:

Look for visual clues: objects or actions that can be represented in your artwork. The Gospel is usually the preferred passage to “draw from”, but sometimes supporting passages have more possibilities to visualize. You can also think in terms of mood or tone: calm, peace, kindness, etc.

Keep it simple and focused on one tidea, even if the passage goes in a few directions. In other words, pick one.

What size or proportion should the artwork be?

Our bulletin covers are vertical, and our printer does not allow for bleeds, so the artwork should fit comfortably in a roughly 4 x 8-inch proportion. Images of larger pieces of art can be scaled down, but anything created at a size smaller than will be printed at actual size. If you would like a template, click here to download one.

How do I submit my piece?

Please make sure you have a high-resolution image of the artwork (not pixelated or fuzzy when you zoom in). You can scan or photograph your artwork and upload the image as a JPG, PNG, PDF, or TIF (max. 2MB) using the submission form below.

You may submit more than one piece of art, but are limited to 3 total.
