Families on Mission

Even while you are at home, your family can be “on mission.”

Refugee Pen Pals

How can volunteer kids and refugee kids build friendships while staying at home? By being Pen Pals! Exodus World Service has begun a new program where volunteer kids are matched with local refugee kids of a similar age to write letters to one another. Exodus offers Pen Pal Letter Templates and Letter Writing Tips to make it easy and fun! Sign up your kids today.

Fill-a-Bowl

Just like in the U.S., Kenyan schools are closed right now. However, students don’t have computers for e-learning, so there’s no school at all. This means the month-long Easter break for students will be even longer, and our Easter Care Baskets will be even more important to the families and community in Dandora.

Please consider making a donation today to help provide food for KDS students during this unexpected lengthened time away from school. Please also continue to fill your bowls. We will gather our offerings when we can safely come back together.

Asante Sana!

Special Giving

Are you finding that your family’s expenses are reducing in this season of staying home? Maybe you haven’t been out to eat or gone to the movies in weeks? You might consider “hiring” your kids for some special projects around the house, so they can earn money and choose a ministry to donate to.

You might consider ministries that All Souls supports, or another ministry your family is connected with.

You might talk about one of the Souls on Mission organizations each night at dinner and ask some questions of each other:

  • Who is this ministry helping and why?
  • Where is God in the midst of this work?
  • Who do we know who is connected with this work?
  • Pray for those who are being served and those who serve, that God would be with them right now.

Grocery Care Packs for Refugees

Many refugees in the Chicago area have lost their household income during this season. Help encourage refugee families and meet their needs during Illinois’ Shelter-at-Home Order. Partnering with Exodus World Service, the Souls have the opportunity to purchase groceries and drop them off at a residential address in Wheaton, or order online and have the items delivered.

Check out the instructions for how you can help, safety precautions, and list of needed groceries and supplies.
