Signs of Life

a catechesis podcast

For Spring 2021, our Catechesis reflected on hope. After a year that has been incredibly difficult on our souls and bodies, where do we find hope? How are we able to look beyond our current situation into the goodness that God promises us? How do we express or live into hope when we are right in the midst of our troubles? Where are you finding signs of life, those persistent plants that grow through the cracks in the concrete? We heard from different voices within our community, sharing about the wide variety of ways that we are noticing God at work in our midst.

Tish Harrison Warren talks about hope like this:

“To hope is to ‘borrow grace.’ It is not naive optimism. Hope admits the truth of our vulnerability. It does not trust God to keep all bad things from happening. But it assumes that redemption, beauty, and goodness will be there for us, whatever lies ahead.”
