Law & Grace: The Formation of the Human Heart
“But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, forbearance, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control. Against such things there is no law.” (Galatians 5:22–23)
“If we live by the Spirit, let us also keep in step with the Spirit.” (Galatians 5:25)
“Therefore, as God’s chosen people, holy and dearly loved, clothe yourselves with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience.” (Colossians 3:12)
While the Bible has much to say about the purpose of God’s law and its inadequacy if not obeyed in the Spirit, it does teach us the Law’s ultimate aim is to be a blessing to those that obey it because it forms our character into the image of Christ. Join us on Sunday mornings where we will explore the connection between graceful obedience to the Ten Commandments and the cultivation of virtue through the gifting of the Holy Spirit.
